Session 5: How does my school think about learning?

The IB and IB World Schools always place learning at the center of everything they do. Learning includes student learning, professional learning of staff and organizational system learning. In an IB World School, this learning is informed by an IB philosophy and pedagogy that promotes individual agency, global citizenship and responsible action.

Discuss at your table group:
  • To what degree is your school a learning community?
  • How would you know if your school represents a “lively ecosystem – where different parts interact with one another?"
  • How might leadership expose teachers to new and challenging opportunities which help them grow and generate capacity?
Are any of these ideas potential areas for growth (possible focus for programme development?)

Welcome Back!
